Best Name Labels for School Stuff

The most boring thing on this whole site, and probably the highest return. One lost coat costs more than a decade of labels.

๐Ÿท๏ธ For Lunch Boxes, Bottles and Gear

The test is the dishwasher. Ordinary sticker labels peel off in one cycle; these are the ones that don't.

โ“ Questions Parents Ask

Do name labels survive the dishwasher?

The good ones do. Look for the words 'dishwasher safe' rather than just 'waterproof' โ€” waterproof only means it survives being wet, not the heat and detergent of a full cycle.

Iron-on or stick-on labels for clothing?

Stick-on no-iron labels are far quicker and hold up fine for a school year. Iron-on printed tapes last longer and are worth it for uniforms and things you'll hand down.

What should you label for school?

Lunch box, water bottle, coat and headphones cover about ninety percent of losses. After that, jumpers, hats and anything the school asks to be brought in.
